How to Evaluate eMasters as Your Designer

There seems to be a lot of confusion in choosing a "good" designer — So what makes a good designer? And how do you avoid unnecessary grief when you are looking for one? — I hope this article will help smoothen the journey.

With other factors remaining constant (ie. work ethics, etc), we need to first deeply understand that design is a highly subjective matter. Or, to put it more graphically, a creation that's highly valued by one person can literally be viewed as a monstrosity by someone else.

Another factor also plays a part: Chemistry — Sometimes the unique chemistry between client and designer can produce a work of art. And other times it can lead to tremendous stress on both parties, resulting in disappointments on both sides.

So, with these in mind, the first step in choosing a designer would be to view the designer's work and see if you can connect with it — Ask to see design samples that are closest to the project you have in mind — Most designers work within a creative range where they can interpret well. Outside of this range, they may not do so well.

After you've found this designer, I suggest (at least for the first job) that you give him/her creative control — After all, this will be the designer who's work you already like and, if left be, would in all probablility create something that you will like.

And if, in the course of working together, you find a deeper chemistry... then by all means stretch and challenge those creative boundaries together!

Such is the territory.

At eMasters, we offer an affordable selection of customized and yet still off-the-peg packaged design deals at fixed prices, to limit your cost.

For these packaged jobs, we will need to take creative control, subject to minor edits.

Note: eMasters' designs are all uniquely branded with Shoi's designs.

This is how it works

If you feel a connection with Shoi's designs, just place an order for the package you'd like — We will furnish you with a questionnaire in order for Shoi to interpret your design brief. She will then come back to you with an initial design draft based on her interpretation (includes 2 free edits).

Note: Give as much detail as possible in the questionaire and feel free to add any other information you feel is pertinent — We will only commence work when we are clear on the brief.

If you would like creative input in the designs, and feel you have some chemistry with Shoi's work, please write to us for our rates.

If this is your first time with us, do have a look at our design portfolio and also read what our clients say about us.

Thank you for your time.
